Jewelry (Jewellery in british spelling) comprises ornamental objects worn by persons, typically made with gems and precious metals.

Jewelry, particularly when made with precious materials, is generally considered valuable and desirable. A variety of precious gemstones, coins or other precious items can be used, often set into precious metals. Common metals used for jewellery include gold, platinum or silver.

Laser engraving in jewelry is not used to make the cutting of gems instead this technique is used mainly to engrave photographs, designs, images and phrases. Laser engraving in jewelry is a computer controlled, environmentally friendly alternative to mechanical engraving, pad printing, stamping or chemical etching. The digital nature of laser engraving allows a great variety of individual customizations.
