How do you get an ipod engraved when you already bought it in a store, not online?

I bought a 30 gb video ipod for my boyfriend for a graduation present, but i got it at the apple store, not online. I want to get it engraved so it's less likely to get stolen at college next year for him. I called the apple store after buying it, but they said ipods can only be laser engraved bc any other way can damage the ipod.

ideas or help?

  1. Try calling a local Trophy shop in your area, one that makes trophys for events and sports teams, they would be the most likely ones that would have access to a laser engraver since they engrave the plates for the trophys.
