Looking for a laser engraver for sale?

I think you have reached the most adequate website before taking any decision about acquiring any laser engraver.

As you probably know, Laser engraving is the practice of using lasers to engrave or mark an object. The industrial technique does not require tool bits which contact the engraving surface and wear out. This fact is really a great benefit over other engraving technologies where bit heads have to be replaced regularly.

Before any decision on buying any laser engraver, previously you must get the answer to many different questions:

the task you will use the tool (it’s not the same if it will be a mere hobby than a business decision

the company that creates the tool

your maximum spending limit (very important)

Even if you are thinking about used laser engravers you must know if the tool still carries the manufacturers warranty seal.

etc…

In this website you will find information about the laser engraving technique, laser engravers for sale and
industry suppliers. Please feel free to explore our different sections to get more information and to properly decide wich laser engraver for sale you will finally get.

Question:

I’m considering buying a laser engraving machine e.g Epilog Legend or Laserpro Spirit, and need to know whether or not these type of machines can be used within a garage environment. I’m thinking in terms of fire risk etc – I’m considering using a garage that has cans of paint and other flamable items stored. Also, the garage is not heated so could get quite cold sometimes during the year.

Answer:

I would not be especially concerned about the fire hazard — the laser itself must be well contained within the machine. If not, your eyes would be at greater risk than the garage.

I might be concerned about the temperature extremes, however. You should be careful to keep condensation from forming, which is a particularly big problem on suddenly warm days when the garage temperature is lower than the ourside air. In my workshop, I have a small electric heater that keeps the inside a few degrees warmer than the outside.

Temperature could cause problems with:

lubrication of moving parts, including linear slides.

condensation.

laser power levels and power level calibration.

Grease becomes quite stiff at low temperatures, unless it is chosen for low-temperature properties. Increasing the resistance to movement may de-tune the servomotors and increase the positioning error to the point where it becomes useless.

Condensation will hurt you in many ways. Lenses fog. Water gets into the lubrication. Water corrodes steel and aluminum. Water conducts electricity, and alters the behavior of the electronics. Most electronics specifications indicate a wide permitted temperature and humidity range, but require that the conditions be “non-condensing”.

Many laser systems are non-linear with temperature. I don’t know the source of this laser, but if youare operating outside of the customary temperature range, the electronics may not be able to sustain a stable beam. The results and consequences would be difficult to predict.

Depending on how large the unit is, I see that the Laserpro Spirit can consume up to 4400 watts. Be sure you have sufficient electrical capacity.

Personally, I’d love to have one of these machines. Good luck with it, and enjoy it.

As the equivalent of tattoos for your gadgets, laser engraving manages to provoke the same love it/hate it response – some view it as an awesome act of self-expression and personalisation, while others see it as a permanent marring of a tech toy and something guaranteed to kill resale values. Still, if you’re a true geek you’ll love the idea of a laser so feast your eyes on this Laser’s video demo of one of their team’s iPhones going under the demon lens.

Of course, they’re not doing this for proverbials and giggles; they’d like very much for you to splash out $10k on one of their engraving machines. Now, assuming you’re not planning to engrave every single solitary item you own (plus those belonging to other people) it’s likely cheaper to go somewhere that already has an engraving machine and get them to do it as a one-off, but who cares. I just like seeing an iPhone undergo laser surgery.

The traditional raw rubber used for vulcanizing stamp dies is quite unacceptable for the production of laser stamp dies, the laser process requires a very even thickness and blemish free surface to produce an acceptable printed image from a stamp die. The rubber must also be subjected to a specific curing process before it can be exposed to the elevated temperature of a laser beam.

The depth of the engraving is determined by the laser speed, its wattage and the density of the rubber. For example, a 50 or 100W engraver will engrave the rubber deeper and faster than a 25W machine, which may require a second pass to achieve a similar result. Usually supplied in an A4 size sheet form, a good quality laser rubber is required for engraving stamp dies and must also have suitable compression strength and ink transfer properties.

To assist the engraving process, it is necessary to remove the excess dust which is constantly created by the laser cutting action with an efficient exhaust filtration system. As very few, if any, CO2 laser engraving machines were initially purpose built for engraving and cutting rubber, installing and maintaining an effective dust extraction system pays long term dividends. Mirrors, lenses and any exposed bearing surfaces should be cleaned thoroughly as part of a regular maintenance program. Any neglect in this area will be detrimental to overall trouble free laser operation, as the build up of dust and residue will affect running efficiency and the quality of the finished stamp die. Lasers are controlled directly from a computer, the software drivers supplied with lasers work with many graphic programs such as CorelDraw.

Approximate cost of a 25 watt Laser suitable for stamp making is $40,000

Advantages – Production is computer controlled, custom made stamps can be made easily

Disadvantages – High capital investment, maintenance costs and running will be much higher than vulcanizing or polymer methods of manufacture.

This is a small brief about the importance of the laser engraved rubber stamps

Laser-aided cutting has brought about a revolution in the manufacturing industries. These high-powered optical beams are used to cut through a variety of materials such as metal, wood, glass and plastic. The laser is directed at the required surface and moved around to cut the material in the desired shape. Laser cutting gives a finer finish to the end product as compared to conventional cutting methods.

A typical laser beam is about 1/5th of a millimeter in width and has an intensity of 1000 to 2000 watts. Most laser cutting machines are integrated into a CAD/CAM system that helps the user design the end product on a computer before implementing it on the work piece.

Laser cutting devices are proving beneficial in a wide array of industries. The plastic industry is no exception. These optic powered devices are used to cut precise shapes into plastic or acrylic sheets. The lasers can be used to cut plastics of varying thickness by simply altering the intensity of the beam. Lasers are not only used to cut through plastics but also help engrave on various surfaces.

Laser plastic cutting machines bring precision and accuracy to the entire process. Since most machines are fully automated, they can perform complex cutting operations at high-speeds. The laser plastic cutting machines can also be used to cut polymers, polycarbonates and other synthetic materials such as polyesters and rubbers.

The laser cutting method uses a non-contact approach when cutting the material. Due to this, the wear and tear associated with conventional methods is absent, preventing the product from any damage and deformation. The laser process also delivers a finish quality unmatched by any other process.

When using laser plastic cutting machines, care should be taken to avoid the use of flammable plastics such as PVCs. These materials cannot cope with the heat generated by the laser and get damaged easily.
