Laser Engraving Systems

Laser engraving systems posses many applications. Most of them
are industrial but this system is so versatile that even art pieces
can be designed and constructed using a laser engaver.

Today I attach a video explaining how to make a small artistic
wooden box. Sincerely everytime I feel more excited about laser
engraving systems.

Everyday I feel more amazed about the possibilities that carries the laser engraving systems and machines. More and more materials are used to be engraved. Enjoy this small video that shows how easy is to engrave with laser a car tyre.

This is a how-to video on lasering an acrylic Christmas tree. Here are the different phases:

1.- Starting with an idea on paper
2.- Transposed this sketch to Corel Draw
3.- Resulting output file is sent to the CO2 laser engraver for cutting.
4.- Two edge-lit 1/8 inch acrylic sheets were used for this project (32×20 inch). Each sheet takes over 30 minutes to cut out the various shapes.
5.- Assembly phase. The pieces are assembled onto a threaded rod on a acrylic base.

The completed tree is about 16 inches in height and 12 inches in diameter at the bottom. The edge-lit acrylic looks fantastic in sunlight, or lit by LED lights at night.
